Throughout the first semester, I have learned many techniques and skills when it comes to executing a film production. In the beginning before filming our commercial and music video, I was not very good at filming nor editing. After these two projects I familiarized myself with these skills and now I am exited to use them. Also, before filming those productions I wasn't very ecstatic to be infant of the camera acting. Now I've grown used to it and I'm also looking forward to participate in the acting of our film. In class we were assigned to create the first two minutes of a movie along with a pitch for the film. My group members for this project are Alex and Jack. We began discuss pitch ideas, what our movie was going to be about, and we researched how to go a long with executing our film. After a long discussion we agreed on three solid pitches. Our pitches were very interesting to talk about and sparked up much discussion.
A pitch is a Hollywood term used to describe an idea where a film is encapsulated in around 25 words or less. The point of your film pitch is to sell and summarize your idea/vision to big producers. I was the first person to propose my film pitch. My pitch was two burglars enter a house, but when they realize that someone's in the house, they try to kidnap them and the victim tries to escape. After I finished explaining my pitch, Alex proposed his pitch. Alex's pitch was some people here rumors about a treasure map, which they end up finding and they go and try to look for the treasure. After we explained our pitch's Jack went ahead and explained his. Jack's pitch was someones gets kidnapped, they're able to get out, and they have to run to try to escape the robbers. We all enjoyed each others pitch's. Although Jack's and I pitch's were similar they both had their own twist. The hard part now was choosing the final pitch.
